The people behind the house.
We are a small team of friends, builders and travellers who fell in love with this stretch of the Galician coast. After years of working remotely from cafés and noisy colivings, we wanted to create the place we had always been looking for — a real house, by the sea, with real people in it.
Casa Mestra is our home, and for the months you stay, it becomes yours too. We host the dinners, keep the WiFi fast and the kitchen stocked, and introduce you to the surfers, fishermen and neighbours who make this corner of Costa da Morte feel like family.

We are learning. We do not have all the answers.
We wanted to call it a laboratory because we are learning. We want to experiment, observe and share. The laboratory is not only the house, it is also the people, the community and the territory. Each stay is an opportunity for us and for those who visit us to explore a different way of living. What we do have clear is that the rhythm of the day is not set by us, it is set by Carnota, its light, the sea and the time. That is our great learning so far.
