Ézaro Waterfall

Ézaro Waterfall

The only waterfall in mainland Europe that flows directly into the ocean — just a short drive from Casa Mestra.

The Ézaro Waterfall is one of Galicia’s most unique and awe-inspiring natural wonders. Located in the village of Ézaro, just a 15-minute drive from Casa Mestra, it is the only waterfall on mainland Europe where a river – the Xallas – cascades directly into the Atlantic Ocean.

The waterfall drops dramatically from a granite cliff, especially stunning after rainfall or during the scheduled night illuminations in summer. A well-maintained wooden walkway and viewpoint platform offer easy access and panoramic views of both the waterfall and the ocean below.

The area is steeped in local legends and mysticism, and nearby you’ll find a small hydroelectric dam and a charming harbor. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, dramatic photo opportunities, or a touch of Galician magic, Ézaro Waterfall is a must-see during your stay.
